Aims:

We would welcome a commitment to, and support of, the aims and beliefs of the society:

The establishment of a ‘Minister for Men and Boys’

To highlight male inequalities

To question the ideology that prevents male inequalities from being addressed in education, the media and the political system

To promote public awareness of why a ‘Minster for Men’ is necessary

Code of Conduct:

To respect the views of other members – even when you disagree with them

Every member has a right to speak with the minimum of interruption

Aggressive verbal attacks on other members will not be tolerated

Racism, homophobia and misogyny are not acceptable – the Society welcomes all

It is expected that members accept the leadership and direction of the facilitator

A primary commitment to the Society, rather than to other Men’s Groups

An understanding that the Society does not support any political party and is neither left-wing nor right-wing

It is felt appropriate for members to not refer to themselves as MRAs (a tired label that now carries very negative connotations). The preferred term is AME: ‘Advocate for Male Equality’.
